The establishment of the English Department of Saltora Netaji Centenary College in the academic year 2000-2001 came into existence as an illustrious milestone in the ever evolving journey of the Institute. Initially the subject of English commenced it's journey as an integral part of Pass Course Curriculum, but as the college's academic tapestry expanded its horizon, the subject itself flourished into an Honours Program in the academic session of 2007-2008, guided by the erudite Shree Santanu Saha, who graced the English Department as a permanent lecturer at that time. Since then, the subject got elevated from a mere course to a beacon of scholarly pursuit within the college's rich and diverse curriculum.
Nestled amidst the natural serenity of the college's surroundings, the department offers a tranquil yet intellectually stimulating environment. It stands as a testament of accessibility, extending quality education to local students who might otherwise have struggled to reach distant colleges. Under the expert guidance of profoundly knowledgeable teachers the English Department has witnessed a remarkable transformation. It has become a symbol of hope for those seeking knowledge and a bright future. As it continues to evolve and grow, it will undoubtedly remain a steadfast source of opportunities, nurturing the aspirations of students and paving the way for a glorious future for all who pass through its doors.
