What is NSS?

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government sector public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. The scheme was launched in Gandhiji's Centenary year in 1969. Aimed at developing student's personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community linkage.

Main objective ofNSS: “Personality Development of Students through Community Services”.

Motto of NSS: Not Me, But You. It means, my problem will be solved later on; let’s solve your problem first.

Saltora Netaji Centenary College currently has 3 very active units that throughout the year conduct different extension, outreach and awareness campaign in and around Saltora village including the 3 adopted villages

i.e. College Para, Natundihi and Bamnisala.
